Steve Dorn not only cinches the AHDRA National Championship at Rockingham, NC but also goes on to win the event, knocking down the competition with consistanly solid passes and great reaction times.
Dorn had the championship win by only one point when Jay Turner was defeated by
Doug Horne in the semi finals. Dorn went on to defeat Horn in the finals with a 6.341 vs Horne's 6.495, giving Dorn the race and championship by a, now official, 21 point margin.
To further emphasize the power and potential of this team, bike and crew chief Mike Slonaker's tuning skills, Dorn set low ET for the event with a 6.291/219.76mph pass in the 2nd round of the finals against Ray Price rider Joey Sternotti (6.384/226.35).
This is a HUGE achievement, four years in the making and was by no means easy or given. The entire team deserves a BIG congratulations.
