Hi Mike;
I have an '01 FXDXT with HTCC CNC ported heads and HD 4.060" barrels and the pistons the HD catalog said would match the heads. Unfortunately the HD SE catalog lied and the pistons I have look as though they came out of a flathead lawnmower motor. I am using the Cycle Shack 2" diameter pipes.
The bike has Wood 408G cams and a Wood modified 51mm Keihn carb. I have the adjustable MAP set at #2 0 degrees advance. I finally had a dyno run done and the results are somewhat disappointing; possibly because of the bad pistons!
I got 120 tq but only 109 hp. The good thing is that the torque curve is a pretty gentle one being over 100 ft/lb at about 2200 rpm (105 lb/ft) and staying over 100 ft/lb until 5,500 rpm. The bike starts and runs fine, the nice fat torque curve makes it easy to ride and all that; but, of course the numbers are pretty weak for a 113" motor.
Any ideas about a cheap fix to get more hp? Which MAP curve would you recommend and how much spark advance (the HD gadget is what I have, plugs into the system).
