Unshrouding Valves

Mike, in another post you talked about unshrouding the valves.

Does this mean removing material from the combustion chamber around the valves to promote better flow?

Yes and how deep piston valve pockets are, how close the valves are to the cylinder wall and how deep in the valve seats.
