The battery is new and fully charged. Been noticing directionals not working sometimes then they will would work. This was always after the initial start. IF it sat foe a bit then turned back on, the directionals were fine. I was riding yesterday, stopped, went to start the bike, lights came on, then click, all went dead. Went to check battery tonight and for the heck of it, turned key and everything came on. Tried to start, click sound.. dead. Then turned key to accessory and the guage was dim then it would get normal and show the LED mialage. Put charger on battery, no change. Charger said full battery. While on acc, squeeze break and guage goes dim, LED mileage goes away.

Is this a voltage regulator issue or something else? I've done nothing to the bike all season and this just started to happen. Can the regulator just go like that or was the sometimes directional working an indication that the regulator was on the way out?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum 3jacs,
IF the new battery is fully charged and in good condition {I've had new batteries fail}
it sounds as if you may have a loose primary connection to the battery.
Check all wires closely that they are making good connection and that the ground wire is making good connection to the frame.
You may need to take the battery out of the bike and have it load tested, our local parts store dose this for me for no charge.
let us know what you find out!
Once you get the bike to where it will start, to test the voltage take a volt gauge and check the battery before you start the bike. if it reads say 12.5 volts remember that and start the bike and again check the voltage with the bike running, with a charging system in good working condition you should now see an increase in voltage on the gauge over 13 volts.
If the battery is fully charged before testing you may need to turn the head lamp on for a minute or so for the charging system to show a good charge.
hope this helps.
