Hi Mike,

I have an 08-FXDSE2 in for the PP-0906 service at my local dealer. So I figured why not add some fun. I am looking for your recommendation on a cam. Listed below is what has already been done and what I am considering. I ride hard half the time (Like I Stole It) and just cruse the other half.

Also, what is the SE/Zippers A/C combo (I assume SE backing plate and zippers big sucker element)? And do you think it would be beneficial?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Already Done:
DTT TCFI III w/WEGO 3D
49 Tooth Clutch Basket (Final 2.97:1)
Rush Slip-Ons w/2" baffles

Considering:
SE-257 Cam???
SE 10.5:1 Pistons
SE Cam Plate
SE Push Rods
Cam Service Kit

In the SE cams, the 257 looks best on the computer for use with stock (unported) heads. The 258 or even 260 are also good choices for more top end charge, easier starting but slightly lazy below 3k rpm. Good aftermarket cams could be S&S 625, T-Man 650 or Knightprowler 9B. These would be better choices with ported heads.

The Zippers air cleaner upgrade is a larger filter element to be used with the SE backing plate, for those who already have the SE air cleaner kit. With ported heads, its a must do. The SE element will typically support the HP levels of stock heads.
