I have a 2005 FLHR with the Latus 95" kit installed that was featured in American Iron Magazine. The kit was installed at 4000 miles and has run very strong, without problems for 3600 miles. I also installed the new automatic primary chain tensioner. At 7500 miles I changed all fluids, installed a low profile front suspension and vivid black front rotors. I was detailing the bike after a ride and noticed that there was approximately a 6" strip of oil "seepage" on the bottom of the inner primary almost directly beneath the primary chain inspection cover.
Here's the "ghost" part - I can't find an origination point anywhere. Nothing is wet as far as I can reach up behind the inner primary, nothing is wet in front of the seepage, nothing is wet behind the seepage. Nothing is leaking from the outer primary gasket, or the outer primary screws, nothing from the "vent hose to nowhere", nothing from the SE air filter, nothing is leaking from the transmission, crankcase, or primary drain plugs - nada, nothing, zip! If I ride the bike the seepage is there, if I leave it parked the seepage is there. I clean it off, come back the next day - same 6" strip of seepage.
What the hell?!
