Had a very good test session at Tucson, prior to Pheonix, correcting several issues presenting themselves at Gainsville.

Due to unsafe track conditions, the Fuel classes elected to run 1/8 mile only at Speedworld (after full passes on friday night). Though, we do not like running 1/8, we also knew that
Steve's bike is very strong in the short half, qualifying 3rd out of 16 bikes.

Emiminations were predictable with Steve running routine 4.36's, thanks to Mike Slonacker's tuning. Unfortunatley the severe crosswinds caught the bike, pushing Steve across the center line in the semifinals.

Making the semi's in both Gainsville and Pheonix has now put the Dorn Racing/Latus Motors Top Fuel Harley in first place for points.

In the AHDRA and NHRA, "Top Fuel" is, by definition, a class designed to use nitromethane (CH3NO2) as the primary fuel. "Top" means unlimited motor and chassis modifications (within safety limits) and "Fuel" means nitromethane. Yes, other fuels could be used in a nitro motor and in fact alcohol and even gasoline is used to start these motors. But to use these fuels in competition would defeat the purpose of the class. Other classes such as Pro-Drag and Pro-Gas exist for those wishing to use those other fuels.

Curious, why post here (more than a year old thread) instead of the more recent AHDRA national championship or Las Vegas win threads (last two months)?
