First race and MANY changes to the bike. Friday test/tune sorted out a few teething problems and saw a 1st round qualifying run of 6.565/212.43 for a great start.
Saturday, qualifying continued with a 6.403/212.66 run placing Steve Dorn in the 3rd place position only .011 behind 2nd place Romine in a 20 bike field.
1st round elinimations put Steve against Bill Furr with Steve's winning 6.510/204.66 vs Bill's 9.236 foul/break.
2nd round was against J. Sternotti (Ray Price H-D) with another win for Steve with a 6.737/180.86 tire shaker to Sternotti's 7.270.
3rd round found Timmons in the other lane and should have been an easy win. "Easy" should never be said as Steve's 7.162 loss to Timmons' 7.000 shows. Steve's bike put a cylinder out around 400 feet into the run.
Connors went on to win with a 6.681/189.58 run.
All the top hitters were in attendence and one again Steve has demonstrated that his team has the equipment and skill to run with the best and the potential to win. On to Phoenix.
