i have a 06 dyna and i just purchased s.e. 10.25 to 1 cast 95 pistons . i am going use stock heads, bike has 204 cams in it now .can i use the 204s ? if not choices look like 211s or 257s. i am using s.e. cams what would you suggest ?? a friend has a 07 fatboy with s&s 510s with 89 h.p. that outruns my dyna badly . what it gonna take to keep the fatboy behind ME??? please help this is embarassing . :(
The 211's will work, but the 257's will give more top end charge. If your willing to use the transmisson (downshift) and run at higher rpms (4-5.5k) the 257's will be more likely to dust your buddy. Do not use the 204's with the 10.25 pistons. Expect 92-95hp/100-105tq with the 257's in 95's with 10.3 compression/stock heads/good pipe/good tune. Recommend the Cometic .030 head gaskets with the 257's.

thanks for the info mike.i am studying basic head porting i will use the 257s .will i have to install comp. releases with 257s at 10.3
They are not required but would be a good backup if the battery gets low.

whats your opinion on the 251s?? would the have more midrange torque and cut down some downshifting??
The 251's will move the tq peak down by about 400rpm along with slightly less peak hp vs the 257's.
