I seen you mention that after you dyno bikes that break in wasn't necessary as it was done during the tune.
Could you please explain this procedure?
Thanks bigshooter

Actually, I've stated that our "new motor tune" process does NOT fully break the motor in and that owners should still observe normal break-in proceedures after the tune. What I have stated is that the remainder of the break-in is now done in a fully tuned state vs an unknown tune. This results in less chance of a problem, related to tuning, during the break-in with a "happy" motor seeing less stress during the same process/period. I.E., an owner would have to work very hard to hurt a motor that has gone through the process. Motors that have gone through this process have demonstrated higher numbers (and better yet after some miles) than those that have not.

The process simply allows us to get the motor to a point that we can do a complete tune. It is a four hour process but is only $60.00 more than a full custom SERT map. It is done in a completely controlled invironment (six fans), is a staged process and allows not only data monitoring but visual as well to insure no problems comeup or to identify and correct any that do. It is far less stressful to a new motor than getting stuck in a traffic jam the first mile out of the shop, or any of the other traffic issues that can prevent correct execution of an on the road break-in. During the process we can collect tuning data and make tuning edits as the process progresses. Once to 100%, there is very little tuning left to do, so this results in less WOT throttle runs required. I.E. most of the tuning is accomplished during the part throttle/restricted rpm stages. I cannot go into the process details on this forum since it is proprietory but would be happy to explain in detail if you were to come in to the store.

The process was developed from a combination of sources and proceedures including our racing programs. It came as a result of the need to deliver bikes to owners in a completed state when shipped to us for performance work. Many owners are uncomfortable with their local tuners ability to accomodate combinations that are designed and put together here at Latus. It also eleminates the need to reschedule for later tuning, so kind of one stop shopping. Last, the owners first experiance with a performance package is now much better with a tuned bike vs a possibly glitchy bike not yet tuned.
