When I ride one up it does great but two up it tends to bog if I get in to it. If I roll on easy it's OK, now grant it this is in 5th, if I drop to 4th not a problem. Should I lower my clip one notch on my needle, or chalk it up to cam and exhaust set up. I have a 22.5 pilot, 98 needle mid clip, 175 main and a 60 pump nozzle. My plugs are dead nuts perfect, the best they have ever looked on this bike since I converted from the MM efi to the Mikuni. The engine is 95" .005 over SE forged high compression pistions with SE performance heads (bath tub), SE .257 cams w/perfect fit rods exiting out V&H true dual headers w/Samson Oval Rolled Thunder slip ons.

May be an accelerator pump adjust will help. Mikuni's have both the start and stopping points adjustable which also allows the duration of the pump to be adjusted. You'll have to try different combo's of each to achieve the best results. Granted, the top screw (stroke limiting screw) is difficult to get at. Another possibility is that the rod is sticking in the stand support on the side of the carb body. We use Tri-Flow to clean and lube but Mikuni says to clean and use no lube. Spray some Tri-Flow under the white wiper at the top of the rod also, the rod sometimes hangs up on this when really dry or dirty. The try needle position changes if the above has no affect. Some of this could be the exhaust, tq dips are more noticable in hehger gears because the motor takes longer to pull out of them and so certain carb issues can also be seen where in lower gears the bike is able to accerate throught them (one of the reasons we use 5th gear runs on our dyno). The STD pump nozzle is a 70 and you may need to go back to this. with the above adjustment trials.
