Re-map Required?

Hi Mike

I took you advice and had the "hole shot" gear installed on my 06 SE Fatboy 103ci. I am greatly impressed, but got to wondering if the change required a re-map to get the absolute most out of it?

Generally I would say most would not require a remap with a gear change but you used the word "absolute". A gear change does change the load on the motor at any given throttle opening and can thus change MAP values and throttle positions for all rpm cells. So in that sense, remapping should benefit but I cannot say by how much or if it would be worth the expense. It coud very well make a big difference orrrrrrr, very little. Problem is that we would have to go through the process (I.E., remap) to find out.
