I have a 2007 Street Glide that I was planning on putting on the Axtell 107ci cylinder kit and having Cycle-Rama do the head work and use their cams. It will be something like their 100TQ/100HP package but a little more. Cycle-Rama is worried that if I get much over 120HP and TQ and spin the motor high up around 5000 to 6000 rpm that I could be in trouble. They say that on the 2007 models they have a weak left hand crank bearing. Have you had any problems with or herd anything about this? Thanks for a very informative web site Greg

We have had one failure on a 160 hp/150tq 124ci motor (corrected with the timkens). I do not like to base the whole world on one bike but also do not want to ignore these things at the owners risk. So, we tell our customers to consider the Timken conversion whenever we expect 125+ hp/tq. Strongly suggested at 135+ (maybe 130). The rollers in the left side go back to '03 so this applies to those and up. One big problem is that when they do fail, it's on the inside, so pulling primary drive and seal to visually inspect them will not detect impending failure. This may become more of an issue as we will now have many more 110-113ci bikes capable of the hp numbers above. Adds cost ant time but may be good insurance (we have STD do the conversions, good price and turnaround).
