Hey mike!
I recently put together a 95"
FLHXI
SE HI Comp pistons
SE Performance heads ported and polished
257 cams
SE AC
25 deg
SERT
Hard Chrome TREX duals
I am having trouble getting it to run, I am losing a cylinder @2000-3000 rpm and it was suggested that I need the correct mapping and the HD maps are not set up for the duals. QUOTED below
"There is no file for true duals. Running a dyna or softail map with staggered duals would be the best bet. You really need someone to write a complete fuel map."
"The map you are running (141pa003-ao) is for FLH headpipes - not true duals. You most likely have a missfire on the rear cylinder due to improper fueling. "
Can you help? :(
We do not have a map specifically for the TREX duals, but do have them for RH TD's with similar motor combo's. We cannot guaruntee suitability, due to bike-to-bike differences, but may be a good base to fine tune from. They are $50.00 each and can be purchased through our internet sales dept found on our home page. That investment could save more than that in dyno time since the base map will be closer with less tuning time required.

Mike,
I have a ccp of 170, I have been told this is low, also I was losing a cylinder at 2200-3000 rpm sounded at first like an electrical thing and then I replaced the plugs and wires with no change. I am worried that I might somehow be off on the cams? I have adjusted the push rods a # of times and that has not helped i retarded the timing 2 deg and moved the loss to 1500? I have been dealing with this since the build was complete it seems to kind of load up and sputter through the 2200 - 3000 rpm and then clear up, I can throttle through it. Sometimes at normal throttle it completely falls flat and both cylinders seem to be missing and then not firing kind of like bahhh ba ba ba bahhh hu hu hu bahhh bah hemmmm and then picks up again? The guy that did my head work seems to think it ay be the exhaust? Still want that file!!!
What are your though?
PS I am going to tear it down today to look at the cam alignment to see if I hosed it!

Tore it down and all looks good... I think I need a tune! I have been able to move the flatness around via the SERT so I believe strongly it is the tunning.
I forgot the "e" at the end of Jo's first name, it should have read "jolaine.eakins@teamlatus.com". My apologies!!!
We do have a map that is similar to your combo and could be used as a good base from which to tune. It's specs are as follows;
95ci
25 degree injectors
Rinehart True Duals, performance baffles
TM600 cams
Baisley Superstock ported heads
10.25 compression pistons
I've contacted Jo that we've have talked so she's aware.
170 CCP does sound a little low, but not all gauges read the same.
Last, some of the SE cams have missmarked timing dots on the rear cams. The timing dot should coincide with the six'th spline groove, from the wide tooth, on the cam end.

Does the timing problem sound like the cam defect?

Well what can I say? HUGE Thanks!!! I received the map soon after we spoke, loaded it and instantly new things where better. It was hailing out and I was jones'n to see if this had done what I suspected. Sooooooo I sat and waited and waited and then I had a break in the rain. I rolled out and carefully took of down the block after a minute of throttle you could not pry the smile off of my face. I am soooo pleased I ended up here on this forum and found you guys. I would recommend your services to anyone. I am leaving on a trip Saturday morning should drop about 1500 miles over the weekend and then I will dino. I will post the results!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!Mike - 2007-03-16 9:51 AM

First of all thanks a whole bunch! I was able to make my trip and the bike ran great! I was finally able to dyno last weekend at the first pass she came in at 95/98. We then made about 10 passes per cylinder and it tunned in very nice from your map. final tunning produced 101/100. So thanks again!
Appreciate the feedback. Mike
