Mike,
I hate beating this subject, but need some direction. In reading this forum it seems that you recommend the quiet baffel for more torque. I am doing a 113 build right now on an 07 flhx. It will be about 10:5 commpression, with headwork and woods tw8 cams. I don`t want a bike that is to loud, and want your direction on either the rinehart duals,dd fatcats or other with quiet baffle. Your vast knowledge is much appeciated.

The quite baffle is recommended for the D&D Boarzilla. We recommend the performance or "big bore" baffle for the Fatcat when used with large motors like the 113. Both are farely loud. Either of these combo's will give more power than the Rinehart TD's without the associated torque dip. The Boarzilla will give better overall numbers due to it's larger diameters.

To cure the dip in RH's, we recommend the quite baffles but peak hp will be down substantially, yet much better tq from 2-4k rpm. There are many new pipes comming on market that are more quite than those in the past and we hope to test as many as opportunity allows.

Mike,
Thankyou. Two quick questions.
Do you think my cam choice is a good one, and if not what would your choice be. I have not purchased yet. And in regards to the pipes and noise, are the dd with quiet baffels much louder then the RH`s with the quiet baffels. The wife really enjoys the radio on the new glide. I just want a quick and torquey scooter. I don`t care if I can go Xmph, I just want to get there quick and have decent numbers.
Thanks in advance for your help. Oh, Race tuner or Daytona Twin tech?

I'm a huge fan of the TW8 cams though Bob Wood push's his 400 and 408's. This is an often overlooked cam.

The DD Boarzilla even with the quite baffle will be much louder than the RH with quite, maybe a problem for your application. Like so many other things, it's a compromise.

I'm all about Race Tuners. Can not see the need to change the whole system to the Daytona. You'll also find that you have more support (if needed) on the road with SERT vs. Daytona. A qualifier is that because we do so many SERT's (and we are an H-D dealership) we really do not have that much experiance with the Daytona system. We have made the decision that we cannot be experts with all the systems out there (S&S, Daytona, Terry, Thundermax, etc) and so have choosen to be the best we can with just SERT and Power Commanders (racing systems not withstanding, we use a variety). We've been able to accomplish very good and satisfactory tunes with extremely radical combo's with these two. We'll let the aftermarket guys take on the others.

I can tell you from first hand experience...the Woods TW8G cam is awesome. I had and S&S585G on my 10.5:1 95" build. On the advice of someone on another forum whom I respect I changed cams to the Woods TW8. People who look at cam timing charts will say these cams are "in the same family" and "should perform similarly". NOT!!! I was amazed how much stronger the bike ran everywhere with no other change than the cams.
