I have a 07 Ultra with a TLE/U and im obviously after torque more than horse power. I want to stay street legal and not void my warranty. It appears that my options are:

4" SE pipes - that may interfear with the parking brake [the clearance at full extension of the swing arm is 1/8"]
SE high flow air cleaner - i dont want to increase blow by and i ride a LOT and worry about dust etc
SE active performance exhaust kit
SE 103 kit
SE 110 kit

Or some combination of the above. obviously some of those options are big bux - and i dont want to compromise durability since i work it pretty hard most of the time.

My dilema is that i cant find dyno charts anywhere for anything but the se pipes and those show a very small difference in the 2k to 4k rpm range.

During the week during the day i run with about 500lb of 'me and "stuff" for work, during weekends my wife and i run all over at about max gvwr of the bike and sidecar

I have the full extended warranty and ride between 5 and 10+ k per year depending..

Sounds like the 110kit may be the best way to go. This will give the greatest increase in torque while still maintaning warranty (when installed by a dealer in complete kit form). The bigger motor size will also help it overcome the exhaust restrictions and mapping is available. More expensive (cases must be machined for the big bore cylinders) but seems to fit your bill precisely. Durability is not an issue with this kit.

thanks much for the prompt reply.

the 110 kit shows the highest torque numbers but it is far and away the most green cash.

the factory chart for 29918-07 is close to 29909-07 in the 2krpm to 4krpm range for less than 1/4 the cost - but both charts are for 07 dynas - not tourning bikes. [page 536 se cat] [and of course those charts might be optimistic & that is why im bothering you....]

the touring 110's use the stock air cleaner with a stock air cleaner housing with more holes [i got the chance to take the cover off one] and claim the same torque but better gas milage [and i assume less crap getting in the engine.]

i "think" the 07 police bikes are 103's with the stock air cleaner - and am trying to dig around to see if there is a stock map availiable for that combo and im trying to find at chart for that combo. in the past the police combinations are always geared for the best possible torque and durability for the least bux.

when im looking at these dyno charts im looking where i really run - above 2500 & below 4krpm - ive had one of my bikes to 5krpm possibly twice a year for the last 5 years.. im just not in that much of a hurry - but i like to be able to put the cruise on at 80 & not worry about it.

the other issue of course is that my bike was already in once for new rings on warranty - if my brain was working at the time i would have probably done the 103 then while it was apart, but like i said i dont want to do anything that will void my warranty.

Any of the "legal" kits will leave your warranty intact when installed by a dealership. The 253 cams are used in the 103 and the 255's in the 110 (though some are using the 255's in 103's also). The 253's are slightly better and so kind of make up the difference between the 103 vs 110 hp wise. Actually, the H-D charts are fairly conservative and we routinley get higher numbers (and, yes, when using the same dyno corrections). The 103 will be a lot less money since the cases do not require machining. I agrree with you on the Police (pursuit) models as I had an FXRP that just flat screamed with only an exhaust (custom built by my shop at the time) and air cleaner.
