Hi Mike

For starts, you did a performance package on my (2001 FLTRSEI with Gerolomy T Body, Bruesch) and my chart was on 95 cu in motors other combo's, Run date 4-7-04 and other upgrades Baisley etc., was very happy with the final results. Also have sent numerous folks your way from the Seattle area to see ya since then.

However I now have a 2003 FLHR and 2003 FXDWG I purchased at the same time in 2003, I will focus on the FLHR for now for the first upgrades and of course would like to have "you" perform the work again on the first bike FLHR and then the FXDWG afterwards as money supports it.

I am starting with a 88 cu in Carb with Stage I and True Dual Rineharts, rest of bike is stock, the motor and trans.

I perfer to move up to the 95 cu in and hopefully get around 105 HP & 110-120 Torque using Woods cams and proper head work.

First the head work will be done by Baisley, however not sure what level is required, Hybrid or etc. depends on the cam I guess?

I am looking at the Woods TW9B, TW400G or TW408G, also I am interested in installing the new silent belt drive for the cams.

Woods Designer VC/R pistons by Wiseco or other suggestions you might consider.

What Woods carb I need to get to support good fuel mileage, with different air cleaner from your previous threads.

Also any other upgrades, oil, bearings, gearing, etc. you suggest.

Would also like to move up to a 6 speed, Harley or aftermarket with your suggestions.

What general price this all might require????

Again thanks Mike

Thank you for the kind words. I'll have to get back to you on the pricing. Suggest using the carb Bobby recomends, he'll know what works best with his combo's, same for cam and compression. The truer one stays to a desingers combo, the more predictable the results. The Baisley Pro Street heads would be a good choice, the Hybrids may be a bit too much for a 95 and cost $2500.00-3500.00. The rest of the combo may not be enough to support the Hybrids (actually never tried them on a 95, typ. use them on 107+ci motors). May be a call to Baisley will help. Gearing will be a function of where you want your cruising RPM's. Regearing to a higher numerical ratio will give better acceleration and dyno numbers but the motor will be turning more rpms cruising. The opposite is ture for lower numerical ratio's. 6 speed tranny's also lower dyno numbers and this will need to be factored in our dyno expectations, but make for great cruising. Some split the difference by installing 6 speeds and then regearing either the primary or trans sprocket to get more acceleration form 1st-5th yet still good cruise with 6th.

Hi Mike

Talked with Basiley yesterday and I will be going with the Pro Street heads at 11:1 compression with compression releases for 95 cu in and will go with the Wiseco pistons only if you had good experience of there products, 2nd choice is MTC. What is the best cam of these two TW-400G or TW-408G for best torque curve and that is closer to 2000 rpm range on up with True Dual Rineharts, also be using Woods Silent Belt Drive Cams which are different P/N's but same cam other wise(BW-400B or BW-408B also install Helical inner gears). For the carb, Woods Rebel Carb K430-325R supports cruise control that I have added.

The main object is to have great cruising at lower rpm's in 6th gear and be above 110+ torque and 105+ hp on dyno after breakin phase.

By installing Baker DD6 will it provide more acceleration from 1st-5th, and good cruise in 6th as you mentioned with regearing the primary or trans spocket to support cruising at 75 to 85 with lowest RPM's in 6th possible and what would be the rpm numbers roughly in 6th, or use Woods tooth compensator (crank gear) ratio 3:37 and 37 tooth clutch basket converts final drive 3:15 to 3:37 ratio what will be the cruising RPM's be at 75 to 85 MPH with Bakers DD6 trans. What would be the least cost for regearing the primary or trans spocket to support cruising at 75 to 85 with lowest RPM's in 6th if I go this route versa Woods gearing $455.00 total.

Thanks Mike

Hi Mike

When I bought my FLTRSEI down before all parts were ordered by latus and you worked with Dan Basiley for the head work, however I just talked to Latus parts dept. 2-8-07 and they mentioned I need to talk to you about ordering Woods products on special orders or order them myself for all components required for this latest project.

When I am ready for you to do the work, will you order all parts???? and work with Basiley as you did before, also would I recieve 10% discount on after market parts, also labor discount how much %. I know that if I wait too long the winter specials for discounts window closes.

Thanks again Mike

I would go with the 408 cam set. We may have detonation issues with the 400's and 11:1 comp. I'll try to run the numbers on the primary vs. trans sprocket and post later. Regearing will give better acceleration (BTW, have Thad working on your est.).

No problem for us to order the parts. Our parts dept just wants to make sure we get the correct stuff. I'll be happy to help coordinate.
Our "makeover" sale will end at the end of this month. On this sale, with a $500.00 min. H-D parts purchase and installed here, you'll get 10% off aftermarket parts and 20% off H-D and all labor. To qualify we just need to create the repair order before time runs out (with deposits, etc.) even if the parts and installation happen later.
Thanks, Mike
