Mark, here's one for ya. Can I run a late model oil pump (26037-06??) on my 2000 FXD cam support plate and will the return from the crankcase still fit? Current pump is 26035-99A. I am freshening up for spring and appear to have scored another pump. Last year I "upgraded" to an '03 (or '04?) cam plate. I think they just moved the oil drip hole to better oil inner cam chain in '03, but I run gears. I think that the '06 pump has wider gerotors and moves more fluid, both return and feed. I don't care for the after market pumps because they are 2 piece bodies and require more O-rings and special lifters. Brian

Oops, I mean Mike, not Mark! ;)

Just don't call me late! The 06 pump will not fit without changing the cam plate, which then requires the new plain bearing cams, which then require the larger inner case bearings. Andrews makes special cams that allow this to happen but you still have to buy the main parts from your dealer. Better to update to the H-D "B" pump but at it's new price the aftermarket pumps start to look pretty good. The Fueling street pump does NOT require special lifters and works just fine with the new H-D stock replacements and I would not be afraid of installing one. We offer a pressure requlating bypass spring that increases oil pressure by 15% for $12.95 (Latus Motors Racing, LMR-002) that works very well with either the H-D pump or Fueling pump and aftermarket cam plates. These can be purchased through our Internet sales dept from this site.

Thx Mike, you are truely a great resource! I'm aware of the new plain bearings and larger needle bearings inboard, just not aware (until now) that new pump won't fit old plate. Please tell me what the HD "B" pump is. What is the part number?

Mike, I figured out what the "B" pump is, and you are right, it is expensive! Thx again for your help!
