View Full Version : Clutch Spring Replacement
If I install a 103" kit on an 07 will I need to replace the stock clutch spring with a stiffer one? I'm not a big guy and if I can get away with keeping the stock spring I would rather do that than spring for a hydraulic clutch.
Second part, if I'm stuck with needing to use a stiffer clutch spring will those EZ pull parts that go into the transmission faceplat fit into the 07? I've heard perhaps not. Thanks.
We've been using the AIM/TPP lockup when clutch's need upgrading. It comes in variuos load requirements and actually reduces lever effort. Bolts in 07 stock primaries using the stock derby cover. Cost is $225.00-$275.00. Much cheaper than Hydraulic or other replacement clutch's with the grief of some. FYI, I believe the E-Z clutch will not work with the 07's (06 dynas).
Thanks, Mike
I have an 06 Dyna fxd3500 and replacedd the clutch spring and the AIM lockup clutch unit (nice piece, about time someone came up with this) my unit is for the 150 HP = range as I am building a big motor but the clutch performs beautifully, no slippage at high rpm gear changes and the lever effort is less than the stock 06 dyna which is very light.
Awesome. Thanks for the endorsement. Sounds like it needs to get factored into the work.

Yea, many guys on the CVO Harley site, who many also visit here are using the AIM/TPP and love it. After I get the performance up where I want it I'll be adding one too.
