Hello Mike;
I have a 2006 FLHTCI with stock headers and Sampson slip-ons. I want to change the stock headers to true duals. Probably Vance and Hines. I also have the SE Race Tuner and the SE breather kit installed as well.
Do you have any comments on the V&H headers. What kind of performance can I expect with this setup.
Thanks;
PAULM
So long as the stock cams are in the motor the V&H TD's will work OK. If future plans include cams, heads, etc. a stepped head pipe system (Rhinehart, Calibre, Hardkrome) will give better results but your slip-ons will not work with these due to the oulet size. The true duals with the same mufflers vs. stock head pipes (each properly tuned) and stock motor, may not show much (if any) performance gain. Most of your gains are a function of the mufflers and air cleaner already installed. We have one such dyno chart in "EXH. TESTS and COMPARE" which showed no change. Of course, one bike does not always represent the norm., so others may respond differently. The bike should be remapped with this change, however, becuase the air will be moving differently in many part throttle areas than with the stock heads pipes.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks for the input, as I read it appears that the difference between true duals and stock crossover pipes are negligable unless I am looking to do motor work.
