Mike, its Doc from H-D of Greenville. we just got our new 250i dyno in !!!! wondering if u can guide me through the best way ya'll are tuning bikes w/ o2 sensors. i know u have to take out of closed loop. should u go to ve or bias table ? can u use both or is one better ? pipes , ac kit and exhaust majority of work. myself and all who lucky enough to know about u and your forum, GREATLY appreciate your help and knowledge!! Thanks, Doc
Thanks Doc!! We flat line the AFR table prior to mapping (as recommended in Race Tuner class) which also disables the closed loop feature. Once the VE tables are corrected for the AFR out the tail pipe, we plug the stock AFR table back in to re-enable the O2's (we may leave some cells disabled depending on the application). The O2's can now do their thing to further fine tune the new mapping and adjust for environmental changes. We are using the stock Bias tables (for the chosen base map) but hope to try some things to better understand cause and effect. So far no owners have complained about issues, but this is likely what will drive us to modify the Bias tables, if required.
Thanks, Mike
