Mike
I have a question concerning using a 07 throttle body on my 02 electraglide efi.
1. Will it work with my current ECM by just changing the plug connectors on my wiring harness.
it looks like all components are the same except for the throttle positioning sensor.
2. will there be any benifit of using this 1 piece throttle body over my 2 piece? besides it uses the newer injectors?
3. My bike currently is 95ci. using a race tuner would I need to completly remap or just change the injector status to the new size injectors?

Mike is this worth trying or just a waste of time? as in not much differance between 1piece or 2piece throttle bodies performance or the elimination of the gasket problems accociated with 2piece throttlebodies?

Thanks Bigshooter

Have not seen a lot of issues with the o-ring between the manifold and body, so no real benifit here. The stock 05E throttle body is capable of supporting 108-110 hp, so if you motor does not aquire those numbers then there may not be much benifit to changing. If your motor can achieve higher numbers the change may be worth doing, but I would use the SE 50mm if doing so (note that the 50 has a larger manifold/head opening [1.730 vs 1.625] and your intake ports should be enlarged to match). The stock 06L body will typ support up to 115-120hp, the 50 120-125.
To answer your questions;
1. It will work with your current ECM. You'll have to change the connectors as you indicated (injectors and TPS). You'll also have to change the wiring arrangemment in the IAC connector (the IAC is different and does not interchange, the connector does interchange, compare the schematics between the years and note the wire locations in the connector).
2. One could argue the old Weber injectors are better due to a wider variety to choose from. I believe the change was based more on cost and possibly sourcing.
3. You'll need a complete remap due to spray angles/targeting differences and tuning constants changes as you've described. The injectors themselves may behave differently enough also, to warrant this.
Our new large bore throttlebody (due for release soon) will be taking this approach for use on 05E models. Not really as tough as it sounds. Older models will require purchase of the wire connectors, terminals, IAC, Injectors, IAT and TPS with our unit. We're looking into making these in kit form.
Thanks, Mike
