Hey Mike, just found this site. My 2006 Street Glide has a SE Race Tuner. The tuner was installed by the dealer and dyno'd. I had the 10K done recently and the mechanic told me my pluges are too white and appear to be way too lean. I spoke to a few other people (Dynojet in Vegas) and was told that white plugs don't mean much anymore. There are no other lean coniditons except the occational pop on deceleration. I'm familar with the DynoJet Power Commander and have mapped my other bikes. It's pretty simple. The SE Race Tuner is a little different.

I connected the bike to the SE Tuner via my laptop. When I clicked "Get ECM Info" I expected I would see the exisiting map and be able to make changes like the Power Commander. I went adhead and added a few increments to 2000 rpm to redline at 0% trottle as per the users manual and hit "Program ECM". It downloaded again and said I was finished. I don't undertsand why the program didn't show the existing map and let me make changes.

Thanks for any help...Steve

With "lean burn" engines, plugs will appear cleaner (white) than in days of old. Today it can be argued if the plugs have any color then the motor is probably too rich. They should have white ceramic, clean electrode, black/dark grey on end of threads on the flat area around the electrode with no speckling or blistering on the ceramic.
As far as Race Tuner, it does not allow calibrations to be retreived from the ECM. This is done to protect the privacy of those maps. Get info simply allows you to see what cal. I.D. number was used to create the cal in the ECM. If the last three digits of the cal i.d. are other than 000, you know it has been modified. This does not mean that one with 000 has not been modified, it can be changed without changing the i.d. Changes are made in the tuning file and then sent to the ECM which overwrites the existing cal.. Unless you have a seperate copy of the existing cal on CD or other, it will be lost as soon as "program ECM" is keyed. This is why we supply a CD map copy to owners, so that they can get back to the original if changes are made and sent, so long as the original was not changed. This is also why you should always save changes as seperate map files. This way you can experiment and if the experiment does not give good results, you can change back and try something else. You can have nearly an unlimited number of map files.
Thanks, Mike
