current ride is 02 wideglide with stock carbureted 88 engine. i am planning a major performance upgrade in the next month or so. major emphasis on torque - most riding is strictly street between 2000 - 5000 rpm, rarely reaching 75mph. my wife accuses me of overkill - i can't stand small v8 motors in my truck, etc. everybody around here either chromes out their rides or simply bolts on a big bore kit. I want to be different as usual, and want to not only go up in displacement, but to include all facets of performance - including ported heads, gear driven cams, ignition, nice carburetor upgrade, and 2-1 exhaust, etc.

I have been searching the web for quite some time now and have found your web site to be perhaps one of my most respected and visited sites. (Right now, i do not know if i should stop at the 95" cid level or go to the larger displacements. Most of my riding will be local in small groups, with one or two long road trips annually. I ride solo (190#) with a windshield. I know that a high performing 95 will be much more than the stock 88 i'm riding, but in a year or two, i will probably be irritated that some relative newcomer goes down to HD and buys a new bike with a cvo package, etc that seems to make mine small. Already the newer engines with the 103 upgrades seem to be as common as the older upgrades to 95" have been).

I have talked to Baisley's hi-performance about their heads. I am looking to put together a nice package that is fully designed to work together, rather than just piecing some combinations together. I am looking for a nice combination of ported heads, corresponding pistons with compression for performance on pump gas, a nice cam to match the heads, pistons, style of riding - and then matching them with a nice carburetor, air intake system, ignition module, and the exhaust. I wish you were closer, (I'm in oklahoma), but i would definitely be interested in one of your custom packages that is not limited to oem products.

I know we talked on the phone, but for the benifit of forum users I'll try to sumarize our conclusions (hope they are the same as we discussed). As a 95ci package, we came up with 45 HSR Mikuni, Baisley Pro-Street porting, Wood Auto Knightprowler TW8G cams, igintion similar to the Dyna TC88 with the choice of either the D&D fatcat or RB Racing LSR exhaust. Some of these choices are based on the Single riding and that we are dealing with a Dyna. A heavier touring bike may like the SE 44CV and the TW6G cams with VH round slip-ons, but will not make the same power. Of course, a bigger motor will make more torque and we talked about a possible 110 or 113. With the work required to build a little more than just "another" 110/113, the Jims 120 starts to look pretty good when the sale of the complete stock motor is factored. Now the 96/103 guys look kinda small!!!
Thanks, Mike
