Dear Mike,
I had my 02 ultra classic dyno ed by you 5/9/2006. Here are the specs if you don?t want to look it up. S&S spo mufflers, S&S reed valve, 95? street legal bb kit, Stage one flash, Andrews 26 g cams, Screaming eagle air cleaner, powercommander lllr. For my winter project I plan to remove the reed valve, change the lifters to the b lifters, add a .030 cometic head gasket and have the heads mildly ported and cc?ed and flowed. A local machinist who is a long time Harley man will do the heads.

I have two questions for you.

1. Do I need to have another dyno run or will I be OK the way it is?
2. Do you think of anything else I should do while I am in there?

Bye the way the bike runs great and the mileage after your tune is significantly better went from low 30?s to low 40?s.

Any thoughts you have will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Stephen Shafer

Nice to hear when things work out!! The combo will change air flow enough to require remapping. If you still have the plastic vents in the rocker covers, update (retro really) to the metal breathers. Also, along with the "A" lifters, if you have the "A" oil pump changing to the "B" version is highly recommended (approx $180.00). Since the bike was dyno'd, you'll have a nice before and after comparison also.
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
Thanks for your answer my parts catalog for my bike #99456-02A, lists the oil pump as 26035-99B. So does that mean that I have the b pump or does it mean that the catalog has been updated since my bike was new?02 flhtcui. How can I tell? I do have the metal vents in the rocker covers came with the big bore kit.

Thanks
Stephen

Mike just and addition to my post re the oil pump. It looks like to me that a new pump if I need one is a lot more than 180.00. Is this price a price from you and if so how would I order one if I need to? I am a little confused as to the pump numbers and upgrade. Just what was changed and when. Hope I am not wearing out my welcome with so many questions just trying to get all my ducks in a row. How strongly do you feel about the pump with my mild build?

Thanks again
Stephen

The old price on the pump was $184.00 until about a week ago (at least at last check). Now shows as $328.00. Apologies for mis-info. Your pump may already be the "B" pump and if in good shape will be OK. Normally the "B" pump went with the "B" lifters so conversely, if you have "A" lifters, I would expect an "A" pump on those bikes we've seen. But a mix would not be a surprise. The "B" pump has improved ports to allow for better alignment to the support plate and gear changes for more flow and scavenging (less chance of wet sumping).
Thanks, Mike
