Hi, Mike, a few weeks ago you help me with my gas milage, i have a 06 FLHR with screaming eagle air cleaner, 95 cubic inches flat top, andrewsTW37B,mikuni HSR 42, Hooker slip on.. now i think the bike start to pull good in 5th gear at about 60 mph- 65mph ..at 50 i need to downshift to have acceleration. I put my screaming eagle slip-on and from my seat of the pants dyno, the bike seem to pull stronger at 50 in 5th gear,i really feel the difference. From your experience, is it possible to have this much difference between 2 sets of slip-on? ( i ride the Hooker slip-on both side set to Torque) I think the Screaming Eagle slip-on parts number is: 64903-99 . Also, what do you think of the Bassani Road rage exhaust system for this bike?
Exhaust is everything on H-D's. You can have MAJOR differences in low end torque between even just slip-ons. In your case, it also depends on whether your Hookers were set on "T" or "H" when comparing to the SE's. "T" giving better low end similar to the SE's. The Bassani Road Rage is an excellent pipe for 95's. It tends to put the torque dip into a low enough rpm range that most riders do not pull down into thus putiing it into an area where it is not noticed except in extreme cases (see our 'dyno library' for examples of this system). Watch heat shield fit near the cam cover and rear brake pedal with the Bassani, will not clear most billet pedals (but can be cut to clear)
Thanks, Mike.
