Mike,
I am new to your site and am amazed at the following you have. Yu must be real good. I noticed on the dyno runs the difference of cold dynos and hot soak onoes. Can you explain this. I have a 114 that has dynoed 130hp numbers converted from a superflow to dynojet jet numbers here in Denver Colorado with Rhinehart true duals. I am going to a 2 into 1 boarzilla in hopes of improveing those numbers and I was wondering also if I have big enough injectors with my S.E. TB which I have bored to 52.5. Do I need to install the v rod injectors and if so what is the part number. Should I also install the oil spring you guys have. The oil gauge scares me when it is at Idle. Sorry for all the questions for the first time. Barry :o

Thanks for the kind words. The heat soak difference is mostly due to fluid temps. All the oils will induce drag on the motor and drive train when cold. This is true of the motor oil dragging down the flywheels, rings, pistons or any other moving part. The trans oil dragging down the gear set and same for the primary oil. It's simply harder for the motor and drive train to wade through this thick oil. When hot , the oil thins, reducing drag and parasitic losses. Another contributing effect, on EFI bikes, is that the sensors need to up to a stabilizing temperature to get accurate speed density calculations. We have found that the stock injectors are good for 125-130Hp tops (the math says 133). To be safe, whenever we have a hp potential of more than 125, we recommend the V-rod injectors (pn 27665-01). We intsall the 15% oil bypass spring with ALL cam installations. There is a suprisingly large number of comments on V-Twin Forums regarding the spring, may be worth looking at.
Thanks, Mike

Mike. I thought the screaming eagle throddle body injectors were not stock. I thought they have a diffrent part number

Sorry, I was interrupted about 20 times while trying to answer your questions and got lost. Yes, the SE T-body has injectors good for about 140hp (so far), so you should be ok. The part numbers in my reply are for 05 and earlier (which the SE T-body willnot fit anyway, without wiring changes). One way to know is if you can not tune WOT on the dyno. Oddly, the fuel curve will go rich (not Lean), because the injectors go to 100% duty cycle and just start dumping fuel uncontrolled and out of time (we believe).
Thanks, Mike
