You guys just did a 251 engine upgrade on my Road King last week. I love the power increase. Before the upgrade my Thunderheader sounded good (deep and throaty) but now it is too loud and weird sounding, a tin like sound. I hate to spend more money on another exhaust system but I think I will. Also the dyno print out showed a drop in power at low rpm and Thad said it was because of the Thunderheader.

Do you have any suggestions on an exhaust system that will give me the deep throaty sound I'm looking for and at the same time not cause any power loss? Power gain would be even better.

We talked about this on our phone conv. but those reading, my reply was the D&D fatcat or Bassnni Road Rage to help boost low end torque without the top end hp loss of others. The sound change was due to more cylinder pressure which is how more hp is gained. Unfortunately sound is a very subjective thing and can only be gauged by the individual.
