Hey mike have you ever used 1.71.1 roller rockers on twin cam motors? Want to try something different on this hop up.

Yes, we've used the Jims when the cams we want do not have the desired lift. Only trick is to make sure TDC clearances are corrected for the added lift at valve. Of course rocker cover clearances also need checking/correcting but this is true of all roller rockers. Using these increases your cam choices.
Thanks, Mike

Hey mike have you ever run those different ratio rockers with the se211 or se251 cams. My head builder will modify for all clearances, im running se211 now they work great . thanks again tat2

We've always reserved high ratio rockers for really high output motors, but have been thinking along the same lines as you. No reason they should not work with 211 or 251's. Only caveat is that the reason we normally use the 211's is that they bolt-in with no head mods, I.E. we are using them because the customer does not want to do head mods. With head mods, we can select other cams that better match what we are trying to achieve. With 1.7 or 1.74 (Jims), rockers, the 211's are no longer "bolt-ins".
Thanks, Mike

thanks for your input mike I appreciate it. I have a 06 FLHX carb with se211 cams 42mmcarb crane ignition geard down (in the primary) 10.25 pistons 95inch. vance & hines true duals header pipes with rinehart mufflers. i spun up 89 hp with 96 torque with stock heads!! The se211 cams with the 1.71 rockers will have .535 lift the tdc lift will be in .219 ex .178 I think that will be around 100hp. If not i will try se 251. I am getting my heads ported and bigger valves this fall. Iwill let you know the results when i get them THANKS AGAIN TAT2
