I have a stock 04 Ultra and am considering varous config's to increase HP and torque. My local HD dealer in NJ suggested the HD SE Big Bore Stage I kit (95") kit with a SE air cleaner, SE203 cams, SE Race Tuner, and Python pipes. This comes in around $2800 I am looking for comments on this setup. I have been unable to find a dyno chart anywhere with Python pipes on a FLHTCUI. I haven't seen these pipes on my year bike on your dyno charts. Suggestions, please??

The Pythons will work well with the stg. I kit (actually the stg. II because of the cams). The second half of our article in American Iron Magazine is in this months issue and represents our version of the stg II (part one in last months). Substitute the 203 cams with the 211's, the flat top pistons for the 10.25 cast pistons and you have our "Executive" package (we call it the 211 kit and there are a large number of dyno charts for this package on this site). You'll get about 10 more hp and tq for the same price as the stg II SE kit using all H-D/SE parts. I'm kind of surprised more dealers have not caught onto this. The Pythons will work equally as well with this combo.
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
Thanks for the response-enlightening! Can you explain why you choose the 211 cam over the 203 for this setup? Thanks again.

The 10.25 compression. It is the mariage of the compression to cam timing (intake closing event) that makes it possible to run the higher compression. I would not recommend running the 10.25 compression with the 203's due to detonation and starting issues. Nor would I recommend running the 211's with flat top pistons because the bike will run lazy, especially at low rpm's. I.E., the 203's with flat tops (HDSE stg II kit) or 211's with high comp's (our 211 "Executive" kit).
Thanks, Mike
