Looking to put a different exhaust on my bike (05'heritage), I had theSE103 &quot;upgrade&quot;pkginstalled and the dealerrecomended a 2:1 pipe for best performance so they took off the SE16 ga dbl barrell pipes I had on and put the SE 2:1 pipe on. I also had a race tuner added. I'm getting about 102/100 for numbers, so performance isn't bad but I really don't like the sound compared to the other pipes I had. I've looked at a lot of your charts and am still trying to decide but really like the looks of the V&amp;H big radius. Any thoughts? Also will these fit ok with the passenger footboards?</p>

Thanks</p></td></tr><tr><td style="font-size: 1pt; height: 1px"><div id="hotbar_promo">:</div></td></tr></tbody></table>

The 2-1 is going to be hard to beat from a performance standpoint. In fact a stepped primary head pipe system (DD Fatcat or Caliber 2-1) would be even better for your 103. The Big Radius pipes would likely cause a performance drop compared to what you are now running on a 103ci engine. As motor size goes up, so too does exhaust diameter and volume. Also, not sure about the running boards but if the photo's are any indication, it looks as though they would clear. We would want to call V&H before ordering to make sure. Of course, a new SERT map will be required with any exhaust change.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks for the info, a slight performace drop doesn't bother me too much. As it stands now I don't get those numbers until I'm running over 5800 rpm anyway - I'd rather have the torque @ lower end for power to ride 2up and pull a hill or pass if needed. If I could stay in the 95/95 range for hp/torque that would satisfy me. I just don't like the "tin" sound out of the 2:1 - totally lost the rumble and ability to "crack" the pipe when I get on it. Also thought about the 2" cycle shack pipes "intended for use on big bore over 95". Thanks again.

Just an FYI to anyone interested.... ended up putting the SE 16ga dbl barrels back on for both the sound and looks over the SE 2:1 tunable. Dealer did some tweaking and punched a small hole in the inner baffle ( two baffle system in these pipes) With race tuner and about 1 1/2 hrs on dyno numbers are 99 hp / 105 tqu @ 5200 rpm. Pipes are louder but have an awesome deep rumble - the sound I was looking for! The hole in inner baffle allows exhaust out while other baffle provides the back pressure. Wish I would have had this info before I spent the $$$ on the 2:1 pipe- didn't loose but 2-3hp and increase in torque. I'm a happy camper!!! (bike=05'Heritage classic w/103 "stock" stroker motor upgrade & lots of chrome)
