Mike, Just got back from a run in S.Dakota where the temps were 116F.Needless to say the bikes got hot, engine noise, clanging tranny shift.Park the bikes after 50-60 miles to cool off.Anyway,we were running Redshift Syn (20/50 eng.) in the engine and the appropriate lubes in primary and trans. After a few days of excess noise we decided to change all oil to SE Syn which made a considerable differance in noise and shifting. The other bike is a Stage 1 EFI Road King .I was wondering if it would be wise to use a higher viscosity oil, like 60 weight during the summer heat?My bike has performance upgrades that Latus dynoed @ 108hp/107tq in a 95in EFI Heritage Softail. Was also looking for an oil cooler but cant decide which one to use.Wimmer Mach. has a single tube which they claim lower temps. 25 degrees.Would that make much of a differance? If its wise to do this ,should I get the adapter with the thermostat? Thanks

Yes to all the above. Most oil coolers lower temps by about 15 deg, so if the Wimmer goes 25, that's pretty good. Definetely run the thermostat, oil too cold is bad. Red line makes a 20-60 and would be better for summer heat, but change back to 20-50 for winter. Prefered motor oil would be Syn 3 or Mobil One V-twin. The Redline Shockproof trans lubes are very good. Note that the TC motor is desinged to run with oil temps ideally between 210-250 with 280 not unusual.
Thanks, Mike
