Mike,
I am interested to know if you have had any experiance with the S.E. exhaust listed on harelys web page that has butterfly valves and a motor of some sort to help tune them. I assume it is for backpressure, but was wondering if it is a good choice. I was leaning toward Bassanni power curve true duals with there megaphone mufflers.
Oh yeah, for an 07 strret glide.

The "active" exhaust has not proved to be much better than stock on the dyno. The idea is that it closes at small throttle openings/ low MAP/RPM to increase backpressure to help boost low end torque. Then open at high TP/MAP/RPM to allow gas flow for hp. I cannot understand why they put the valve in the left side where only about 10% of the gas flow is (except for durability)!? It is a great idea and has been used for years on Suzuki's (EX-UP valve) and works OK on Buell XB12's (though removing it does not have much of an affect with stock cams). You'll see more of this technology on H-D's in the future. A better choice for true dual exhaust for your 07 would be the Calibre (Samson) true duals. The Power Curve has not been stellar on the dyno (even from a torque standpoint). You'll need Race Tuner with an exh change (soon to be released for 07's).
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
Just picked up the new bike. Now what is your experience with rhinehart true duals with the O2 port in them? They claim they are brand new for the 07`s.

To date, the Rhineharts only have the sensor port in the front pipe, but word has it they are working on adding it to the rear to be released soon, if not already. They should work well with the 07's.
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
In your opinion, would they be a good choice. I am looking for the most gain with the least amount of noise ( still want to hear the radio). I had bassanni duals with there megaphones on my road king, and I loved thee sound and bark but I think they might be a little loud for the new ride.
Thanks in advance

A good choice but the sound may be little loud. They are longer than the Bassanni's and slightly quiter by comparison. We've been playing with the Caliber's and they are a little quiter yet with the standard baffle, but without the performance baffle they will not match the hp numbers of the Rhine Harts but the perf baff is, again back to loud.
Thanks, Mike
