Mike maybe you have seen this but i have a 116" 11.5 comp
we just put in some 1.67 ratio rockers .030 commetic head gasket, new rings , and woods tw8g cams
Pro pipe Hs

the thing is now at idle a chiping / squeeky noise is comming from the pipe at idle hot or cold.

i tried chaning plugs, taking baffle out, richining AFR still same noise and its comming out of the end of the pipe. its intemitant like stedy every second or 2 .

what could be some of the causes
would changing the rocker ratio effect the tw8g cams to cause this chiping , maybe with reversion.

could it be a exhaust leak at the heads? i dont feel one but i am using the SE type gaskets.

could a leeky valve seal?

any where you could point me would be great

Ok did leak down today 1% and 2% , and this is with rings that have about 15 miles on them. so i geuss my head gasket is ok.

talked with rev performace and he has seen it before exact sound chirp on idle and goes away when you are not at idle, well he said that it is a combo of the compression, intake , overlap, cams and pipe. in other words the stars are in line and it just happens he has raced for years and says it usually happen on higher performace motors and not to wory about it.

funny when bike gets warn it does it less than when cold. i wonder if i need more feul at idle running a tcfi set to 13.0 afr at 750, 100, 1250

The chirp could be coming from the throttle body. Adding some fuel sometimes helps.
Thanks, Mike
