I have 2 sets of roller rockers to choose from

1. s&s 1.62 forged
2. Rev performace 1.67 forged

just wondering is there much bennifit in using the 1.67 over the 1.62 i geuss in theory it would change the lift on the woods tw8g from .590 to .608 , they are going in a 116" 11.1 comp.

the s&s look more finished then the other ones the rev look alittle rough. but was told they are forged. dont know how to tell for sure.

are there disadvantages to using the 1.67 more noise or geometry issues thanks

We know motors respond to higher lifts and so the 1.67's look good on paper. The geometry could be an issue if just bolted in, though it is not a dramatic change. Things to look for would be valve stem hieghts, roller contact and travel across vavle tip and half lift angle relative to valve and rocker shaft center. All these can be addressed by a good head builder but adds cost. Do not forget that TDC lifts also change with rocker ratio's, so valve to valve and piston valve pockets need to be checked. This assumes valve spring travel and pressure is correct for the added lift. Rocker covers require clearancing on the valve end on TC's (on the pushrod end on EV's). I do not have experiance with the Rev. rockers and so cannot advise on the quality question. S&S is a known and perform well. If you are having heads done by Baisley then by using their rockers, all the above is addressed and they offer their rockers in any ratio you prefer in addition to correcting ratios in the rocker itself.
Thanks, Mike
