I recently rented a 2006 Heirtage Softail on the Island of Kauai and the clutch effort was so easy, a joy to use. I have a 2005 softail Delux and its a hard pull compared to the new Heirtage.

What has changed with the new bike and how can I get that clutch installed on my Delux?

The 06 models use an 18 degree ball and ramp (vs 05E 21 deg) and a lighter diaphragm spring. It is available as a kit to upgrade 05E models, P/N 36808-05 (page 199 in the 06 P&A big book) for $44.95 retail. Be aware that if a 95 ci kit is installed, this spring will slip and the SE spring P/N37951-98 is required. The SE spring will reintroduce some of the pull, but the 18 deg ball and ramp will still reduce this vs. the 21 deg setup.
