hi mike, i just bought a 2006 softail standerd. all my other bikes have been carbed. im not really worried about going faster and more power yet, i went from 1200 to 1450 so im good with that. i wanted a better sound so i wanted to put a set of slip ons, on, i have been told so many things. i was told if your not changing the air filter i should be fine but if i change the filter and the exhaust then i will need to get it flashed. then i was told from my dealer that i could not do one with out the other and i would have to buy a power comander.
im just wanting a better sound at this point. after i get a few payments under my belt i could see doing the full stage one. just for slip ons do i need to do all that.

hey mike. i just put the sceaming eagle slip ons on and it sounds great but throt responce is very poor, it feels like i have flat spots all over the place.
i thinking its from running lean?????????????? i ordered a power comander and it will be in next week also with a se air filter. will a new map help this poor running. i have decided to not ride it until then. thanks for your time

Yep, the PC will do just fine correcting your lean conditions. Make sure it's the USB version. You'll have Fr and Rr tuning capability and you can install "Rev-Extend" (more expandable features coming). In the meantime, your decision not to ride is a good one. There is a very high risk of injuring the motor if it is held in one of those lean areas for an extended length of time under a load (freeway with a head wind). We recommend the H-D SE reflash cal even with the PC just in case the PC gives you issues. You'll still be able to ride without the PC (just will not run as well) and the values in the PC will not be as great. But this adds $150.00 and is not a must do. If you elect to reflash later you'll also have to remap the PC.

hey mike, got the powercomander today and installed, they dont make it easy on you but after taking it for a ride, man what a diferance. i think when i get the money ill do the flash done as well
