Mike I read here about the issue with S&S reed valves and wet sumping. I have had their reed valve in my bike for the last 25K no issues that I know of. I am scheduled for a dyno run at your shop next Tues. How likely is this, the valve, being a problem. Here is my build.

02 flhtcui, 95" big bore kit with hd flat top pistons, Andrews 26G cams, Power Commander 111r, Stage one flash, S&S oval slipons. Stock oil pump and stock heads. I changed the cams and mufflers this winter no canned map available from Dyno Jet.

Thanks looking forward to getting it dialed in.

Apologies for late reply, on the road and will try best as can to keep up while so. The sumping seems to be a bike-to-bike issue. As indicated by the sample dyno charts in our "test and compare" folder, it shows as low HP numbers on initial dyno runs that progressively improve with more runs but then return to low numbers after an intermission. It can also be verified by taking crankcase oil volume samples after runs, or by removing the reed valve and comparing the results. This has also been seen by other engine builders and so is not unique to us. We have two options in your case. We can run as is and if the numbers look good assume the valve is working and maybe helping (especially it the torque numbers look good). If the numbers show low we can then be prepared to remove the valve. Or, the valve can be removed before the dyno work.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks Mike I guess the best for me is to show up, dyno, and see what things look like. If there is any problem I want to remove the valve and rerun the dyno. Most of my concern is because I am a 5 hour ride away from your shop.

Thanks for taking the time to reply especially since you are on the road. See you Tuesday at 2.
