Mike I tried to clean my spark plug thread using a back tap and ended up stripping the hole. Is there anyway the threads can be repaired without pulling the head? What kind of cost am I looking at to repair it properly so it is as good as new? thanks guest
Hi, Mike is gone so I will answer.
Yes! It is called a time-sert. It is a solid thread insert that you install into the stripped hole. It's easy, all you do is re-tap the hole with the time sert tool and then insert the new thread piece., that is with lock tight. The kit may cost as much as $60.00., but well worth it. We can get this done for you ASAP!
