Detonation; what can be done? Do any of the fuel additives I see sold at auto parts stores and m/c parts counters help?

The Moroso Octane Booster works well as does a 50/50 mix of 106 or 110 race fuel with pump gas. When on the road, the additives work OK. We try to build engines that do not require these things and in fact, that is my definition of a "Race" motor vs. "street". I feel, if we have to run race fuel or additives routinely, then it is no longer a true street motor. We do, and will build such motors so long as the customer is fully aware of the need to use these fuels or additives. The other possible cure is to reduce timing and add fuel to help cool the motor, but now we are de-tuning a motor we just spent a lot a money on to make HP! That end result is a HP number that could have been achieved with a lot less investment and grief.
