You were going to run some numbers to figure the compression when keeping the same 8.6.1 cast pistons that come with this model and decking/shaving the heads .070. Any estimate yet?
Thanks
The computer says decking the heads .070 would raise the compression from 8.6 to 9.7. It is actually slightly lower due the combustion chamber shape and head gasket actual I.D.. More likely 9.4-9.5 when cc'd directly. Some good cam choices for this compression and motor size would be the T-Man 600, Wood Auto TW5 or 6H, HD SE 251 or similar. 10.5 comp. would allow for more cam and power but would require a piston change. Due to the unique rod end design used in the CVO fatboy, piston choice's are technically limited. Having said that, we are looking into the possiblity of running conventional pistons with that rod and what consequences this may introduce.
Also, our "make over"sale begins Nov.1, 05.
